Travel Mammography Tech - $2,899 per week in San Diego, CA - Shift: Day - 8x5 - 06AM Description: Perform routine diagnostic radiological procedures and services as appropriate. Adhere to radiation safety policies and procedures in accordance with department standards. Send appropriate image series to the radiologist for reading according to established protocols. Correctly position the patient for the examination and make technical adjustments necessary for the required examination. Determine if any special patient preparation is required. Process digital images and submit for interpretation by radiologists. Document all procedures and maintain records in accordance with departmental policy. Perform system calibrations and quality control tasks according to manufacturer policies. Recognize artifacts and equipment errors and notify designated personnel of anomalies. Initiate repair call procedures for equipment malfunctions by notifying designated personnel. Report problems and record the condition in the trouble call logbook. Observe and report to the radiologist any symptoms which may affect the patient's condition due to adverse reactions. Recognize the need for and implement necessary emergency measures for resuscitation procedures. Correlate the patient’s clinical history with the requested examination and obtain results from previous diagnostic tests. Consult with staff regarding the patient’s pertinent past medical history and preliminary diagnosis as related to the examination. Recognize normal anatomic variants and changes created by medical and surgical procedures. Document arrival, departure, and completed tests as required. Explain procedures to patients and assist them in assuming the necessary physical position for examination. Assist in compiling and archiving records for procedures performed. Perform ultrasound-guided and stereotactic biopsies and conduct post-biopsy imaging as required. Qualifications/Requirements: Education: Graduate from an academic program accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) Experience: One year of experience within the last two years as a Mammography Tech. Certification: Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) Life Support Certification: Possess a current AHA OR ARC BLS Healthcare Provider certification. Security: Must possess ability to pass a Government background check/security clearance.
