Dialysis Tech travel Patient Care Technicians needed in Orient, Ohio - Weekly Pay range - $1026 to $1140 Summary: * Certified Hemodialysis Patient tech is any person who provides direct care to patients and who is not classified as another professional, like a nurse, dietitian or social worker. Duties and Responsibilities: * Work under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse * Weighs patient and takes vital signs before, during and after treatment * Sets up dialysis machines in readiness for therapy and breaks machine down after therapy based on company protocol * Follow established safety and infection control precautions, policies and procedure * Perform catheter care under the direction of a registered nurse * Cannulate effectively as per protocol and under the supervision of a nurse * Collects information for the charge nurse during patient assessment and evaluation * Collects Pre and Post dialysis blood samples * Spins blood sample before temporary cold storage * Keeps work area clean * Performs monthly drain maintenance * Collects water samples for testing as needed * Trouble-shoots machine problems as needed * Documents vital signs and machine pressures as per protocol * Treat patients and families with respect Minimum Job Requirements: * Must complete a training program that is approved by the medical director and governing body, under the direction of a registered nurse, focused on the operation of kidney dialysis equipment and machines, providing direct patient care, and communication and interpersonal skills, including patient sensitivity training and care of difficult patients. * Meet training credentialing, competency, standards of practice, certification, and licensure in the state in which he or she is employed as a dialysis technician; * Must have a high school equivalent diploma or equivalency * Able to lift and move fifty (50) pounds
