Will take 1 year of experience if they ve traveled before. If they re a first-time traveler, need 2+ years of experience. This needs to be Cath Lab experience. Will you accept a first-time traveler? Yes, see above Patient Types: Cath Lab: Diagnostic/interventional, LHC/RHC, NSTEMI and STEMI, Impella, IABPs, Rotablator, CTOs/staged PCI, shockwave, temp pacers, peripheral (legs) diagnostic/intervention, loop recorders, EP: Micra, pacemaker, AICDs, lead extractions/revisions, generator changes Cases performed in a day: 8 cases per day Required Licensure Certifications: BLS, ACLS ARRT OR RCIS License WA Licence Skills required: Experience with above cases, scrub and operate table simultaneously Monitoring experience preferred Support on the Unit: Scheduler Charge nurse/Lead Tech Respiratory Therapy 24/7 Hospitalist 24/7 Intensivists Cardiologist on call all the time but there during day RRT and Code Team if needed Transporter, but will help transport their own patients that are on tele monitor Manager there during the week Technology/Equipment: EMR: EPIC IV pumps: Alaris Medication dispensing: Pyxis PACS: Picom Hemodynamic: Merge experience preferred Equipment used? Traveler has the option of taking buddy call during the 1st week, but will take call independently during their 2nd week Scheduling: Weekend rotation: Call only On call? Weekday, Monday Thursday: Once per week, EOS until 0700 the following morning Weekend, Friday/Saturday/Sunday: Every 6th weekend, EOS Friday until Monday at 0700 No sleep room available, but can use the Admit/Recovery unit if necessary 30-minute response time 3-person call team: 2 techs and 1 RN Holiday Expectations: 1 holiday per contract, call only Approval of RTO: To go through manager Shift times: Could be 0600-1630 or 0700-1730, depending if they re on call. This role involves preparing patients and equipment, monitoring hemodynamic data, assisting physicians during procedures, and ensuring patient safety throughout the process. The technologist operates specialized imaging equipment, maintains sterile technique, and collaborates with the healthcare team to provide high-quality patient care. This position requires technical expertise in cardiovascular procedures, critical thinking skills, and the ability to work efficiently in high-pressure situations. ESSENTIAL WORK FUNCTIONS: * Prepare and position patients for cardiac catheterization, angioplasty, stent placement, electrophysiology studies, and other interventional procedures * Assist physicians during procedures by passing catheters, wires, balloons, and stents, and operating fluoroscopy and hemodynamic monitoring equipment * Operate and maintain imaging equipment, contrast injectors, and hemodynamic monitoring systems, ensuring proper functionality * Scrub in and assist with sterile field setup, ensuring adherence to infection control and procedural protocols * Perform sheath removal and hemostasis using manual compression or closure devices as directed * Maintain accurate documentation, including patient records, imaging data, and equipment logs * Assist with inventory management, stocking supplies, and ensuring proper storage of sterile instruments and medications * Adhere to radiation safety protocols, ensuring proper use of lead aprons, shields, and dosimeters * Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety guidelines, and regulatory requirements * Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards * Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice REQUIRED ESSENTIAL SKILLS: * Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills * The ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language * Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills * Physical Abilities - Must be able to remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50-100lbs), push, pull, and bend * Interpersonal Skills - Must be able to work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary) to present a positive attitude and professionalism * Technical/Motor Skills - Must have the ability to grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment * Mental Requirements - Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure.
