Travel Medical Lab Technician in Hot Springs, SD - Fall River Health Services is looking for a Medical Lab Technician to perform, record, and interpret quality control measures to assure accurate test results. The incumbent performs prescribed and scheduled lab equipment maintenance to assure efficient continuing operation and investigates and/or corrects simple instrument malfunctions. In this position you will also complete, route, and file lab reports, perform other clerical duties as necessary such as answering the telephone and typing reports; and write and review laboratory test procedures. The Medical Lab Technician / Technologist performs other related duties as required. This may include assisting in the x-ray department as deemed necessary. Responsibilities : * Collect, prepare and label body fluid or tissue from patient to be used for various testing procedures. * Test specimens, verifies results and accurately documents test results to comply with accepted standards and assure quality control. * Perform proficiency tests as required to ensure accurate laboratory operation. * Maintain documentation for reagents, controls, and equipment; and review and update procedures as necessary to further maintain the quality of care. * Perform prescribed equipment maintenance and operation to ensure safety of equipment and adherence to established procedures. * Interact cooperatively with others to ensure a safe and infection-free environment. * Follow infection control procedures to ensure a safe and infection-free environment. * Follow the policy on confidentiality to ensure the integrity of the department as well as the facility. * Remain current in changes taking place within the laboratory; both regulatory and technological. * Demonstrate the ability to work under high-stress and/or changing conditions.
