Travel Electrophysiology Tech - $2,201 per week in Seaford, DE - ID: 49330105 Shift: Days Description: Additional Information: Position Description: Job primary function of a Cardiovascular Technologist is to assist with care of patients undergoing diagnostic and/or interventional cardiology procedures in the Cardiac Cath Lab. Job Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required: Ability to read and communicate in the English language. Mental Demands:1. Must be able to answer inquiries about Cardiac Cath procedures, technologies, methodologies, and answer questions about specific factors that can influence test results.2. Must be able to organize effectively, work under restraints of time pressure, and an ever-changing schedule.3. Knowledge of proper use of all catheter equipment and analytical methods in use in the Cath lab.4. Ability to perform new procedures under the Director, Medical Director or Manager s direction.5. Must possess good communication and interpretive skills, be able to successfully report Cath results and patient condition to medical and nursing staff as well as interpret oral and written orders.6. Understands theory, as well as procedure of cardiac Cath and interventions by cardiologists for evaluation of validity of patient results.7. Must exhibit skills of communication, compassion, and helpfulness when dealing with patients, patient families, general public, and other medical health professionals.8. Adjust to change in policies, procedures, schedule, and fluctuation in workload.9. May temporarily supervise Cath lab traffic in absence of Cath lab manager/leadContact with Others: 1. Close patient contact during long procedures. 2. Frequent contact with Radiologists and physicians to discuss procedure protocols and case histories.3. Frequent contact with nursing personnel for purposes of patient preparation and scheduling.4. Frequent contact with radiology personnel as patients may have more than one study or may have need for transportation.5. Frequent contact with physicians and their offices for purposes of patient scheduling and obtaining patient history.6. Occasional contact with sales people or specialists, who present advancing technological, change to the department. 7. Constant contact with Cath lab personnel regarding shared responsibilities. 8. Frequent contact with patient s families and general public. 9 Frequent contact with acutely ill and/or disturbed patients.Special procedures and requirements. Ability to handle both invasive and non-invasive cases. Scrub on diagnosis and interventional cases with the physicians. Need to able to utilize computerized documentation system. Assist with EP side. Type of equipment. Imaging Equipment = Toshiba/Canon; Hemodynamics = MergeAdditional skills and abilities. Able to assist with 24 to 32 cases/procedures a day. Each procedure has 4 on a team per room: 1 RN (prefer 2 on interventional cases and 2 techs (1 x-ray and 1 CVT)Licensure and Certification requirements. Radiology Technologist or Registered Cardiovascular Technologist in the State of Maryland or be eligible for licensure. ACLSCall, special schedule or floating requirements. Monday - Friday; Call = 12-15 days per month with every other weekendComments: Monday - - 4:00pmCall= 12 - 15 days per month with every other weekendGuaranteed hours will not apply during orientation. Travel Electrophysiology Tech - $2,439 per week in Seaford, DE - Summary : * Monitors patients electrocardiograms and reports rhythm disturbances to physicians. Monitors and records intracardiac and intravascular pressures. * Utilizes all appropriate equipment and supplies according to established policies and procedures. * Reports to the Supervisor of the Unit and or the Chief of Radiology. Duties and Responsibilities: * Assist EP Cardiologist during diagnostic procedures. * Assist EP Cardiologist during invasive procedures. * Assist patient to procedure room. * Maintain Sterile Scrub Technique. * May assist in the following, Angioplasty, Biopsies, image-guided thermal ablation and other procedures in the radiology department. * Evaluate quality assurance performance. * Monitor performance. * Assist with Catheter Ablation for cardiac arrhythmias. * Assist with implantation of device for cardiac rhythm management. * Helps physicians with minimally invasive procedures that guide instruments through a patient`s blood vessels and organs. * Observes patients during procedure and reports abnormal activity. Education & Experience Requirements: * Two year degree in Interventional Radiology Technology. * One year of experience as Interventional Radiology Technician in a Healthcare Setting. * Current AHA BLS.
