Travel Surgical Tech - $2,494 per week in Syracuse, NY - Job Details: • Traveler ($27hr + $1414wk tax-free stipend) or Local ($61hr) • 0645-1515 Shift • 8 Hours • 13-week assignment Description: A Scrub Tech, also known as a Surgical Technologist plays a vital role in the surgical team, ensuring the operating room is prepared for procedures and that all surgical instruments are available, sterile, and functioning properly. The Scrub Tech works under the direction of surgeons, anesthesiologists, and registered nurses to provide direct support during surgical procedures. Qualifications: * Current BLS certifications * NBSTSA Certification * 1+ year experience required Responsibilities: * Preparation of the Operating Room: • Ensure that the operating room is sterile and all necessary surgical instruments and supplies are properly arranged and ready for the procedure. • Set up the sterile field, including surgical drapes, and prepare the necessary equipment. * Assisting During Surgery: • Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, sponges, and other necessary items. • Anticipate the needs of the surgical team to ensure the procedure runs smoothly and efficiently. • Maintain the sterile environment throughout the surgery, ensuring that contamination does not occur. * Handling Surgical Instruments: • Keep track of all surgical instruments, sponges, needles, and other tools used during surgery to prevent any items from being left in the patient. • Prepare and handle specimens for laboratory analysis when required. * Postoperative Duties: • Help with the application of dressings and prepare the patient for transfer to the recovery area. • Clean and sterilize instruments and equipment after surgery, ensuring everything is ready for the next procedure.
