The Scrub Tech works under the direction of surgeons, anesthesiologists, and registered nurses to provide direct support during surgical procedures. Qualifications: * Current BLS certifications * NBSTSA Certification * 1+ year experience required Responsibilities: * Preparation of the Operating Room: • Ensure that the operating room is sterile and all necessary surgical instruments and supplies are properly arranged and ready for the procedure. • Set up the sterile field, including surgical drapes, and prepare the necessary equipment. * Assisting During Surgery: • Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, sponges, and other necessary items. • Anticipate the needs of the surgical team to ensure the procedure runs smoothly and efficiently. • Maintain the sterile environment throughout the surgery, ensuring that contamination does not occur. * Handling Surgical Instruments: • Keep track of all surgical instruments, sponges, needles, and other tools used during surgery to prevent any items from being left in the patient. • Prepare and handle specimens for laboratory analysis when required. * Postoperative Duties: • Help with the application of dressings and prepare the patient for transfer to the recovery area. • Clean and sterilize instruments and equipment after surgery, ensuring everything is ready for the next procedure.
