Candidates will assist in the orientation of new staff and participate in Quality Improvement activities. Recording vital signs and intake and output when requested is part of the role. Any changes observed in patients must be reported to the RN. Performing nursing procedures that do not require a licensed professional’s skill is part of the responsibilities. Clerical duties such as assembling charts and entering charges are required. Assisting with environmental maintenance duties as needed is expected. Performing point of care testing will be included in the duties. The unit follows AWHONN guidelines for staffing ratios. An OB/Neonatologist is available 24/7. Equipment used includes vents and CPAP.
