Travel Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) - $2,614 per week in Syracuse, NY - Title: ( Speech Language Pathologist ) - Contract Location: Syracuse , NY Job Details: • Travel Pay Rate: $30hr + $1414 wk Stipend (Tax Free) • Local Pay Rate (within 50 miles): $53hr • 5 shifts X 8 hours (40 hours a week)+ 1 weekend every other month • 12-week assignment Description of job: Speech-Language Therapists (SLTs) at Upstate University Hospital assess, diagnose, and treat patients with speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders. They develop individualized treatment plans and provide therapy across inpatient and outpatient settings. SLTs collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and rehabilitation teams to support comprehensive patient care. Qualifications: • Master's Degree in Speech Pathology • Current NY licensure • Completion of the Clinical Fellowship year is required Responsibilities: Evaluate patients with speech, language, voice, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders using standardized assessments and clinical observations. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans , adjusting interventions based on patient progress and goals. Provide therapy sessions for patients across diverse settings, including acute care, outpatient, and rehabilitation units. Educate patients, families, and caregivers on communication strategies, feeding techniques, and home exercises. Document evaluations, treatment plans, and progress notes in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards. Responsibilities: * Evaluate patients to assess speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, and swallowing disorders. * Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and goals. * Provide therapy to improve communication skills, speech clarity, language development, cognitive functioning, and swallowing abilities. * Conduct bedside swallow evaluations and recommend dietary modifications when appropriate. * Educate patients, families, and caregivers on treatment plans, home exercises, and communication strategies. * Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment interventions as necessary. * Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation, including evaluations, progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries. * Collaborate with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care. * Ensure compliance with facility policies, regulatory standards, and patient safety guidelines. * Participate in care planning and interdisciplinary team meetings as needed.
