Travel Respiratory Therapy Technician in Rochelle Park, NJ - JOB TITLE Respiratory Therapist – Night Shift LOCATION New Jersey SCHEDULE / JOB TYPE Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Night Shift KEY RESPONSIBILITIES * Provide intensive respiratory care and patient transport as medically prescribed, within the scope of professional licensure and with minimal supervision; evaluate patients and recommend treatment plans. * Operate ventilatory equipment (invasive and non-invasive), oxygen and aerosol devices, and nebulizer devices to administer prescribed medications, humidification, ventilation, and oxygenation; perform chest physiotherapy and suctioning via oropharyngeal, nasal, and tracheal methods. * Perform oximetry and capnography monitoring, pulmonary function studies, 12-Lead EKG, basic arrhythmia recognition, and routine review of patient chest x-rays. * Assist with respiratory-related procedures including bronchoscopy, percutaneous tracheostomies, and chest tube placement; perform tracheostomy care including insertion and removal of tracheostomy tubes in emergent and non-emergent situations. * Perform arterial punctures, interpret results to determine ventilation efficiency, and conduct cardiopulmonary resuscitation in accordance with BLS and ACLS guidelines; perform endotracheal tube insertion and removal via freehand technique and/or video laryngoscope. * Accurately document all treatments, patient responses, and respiratory therapy charges; communicate with attending and pulmonary physicians regarding therapy effectiveness and participate in shift-to-shift handoff communication during walking rounds. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS * Active New Jersey State Respiratory Therapist licensure required. * Current BLS and ACLS certification. * Demonstrated ability to operate and maintain various mechanical ventilators and respiratory therapy equipment. * Proficiency in arterial puncture, pulmonary function testing, and interpretation of results. * Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced clinical environment. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE / SKILLS * Experience assisting with bronchoscopy, percutaneous tracheostomy, and chest tube placement procedures. * Familiarity with moderate complexity laboratory testing policies and procedures, including specimen handling, quality controls, and documentation. * Experience with PleurX catheter drainage or similar pleural drainage devices.
