Travel Respiratory Therapy Technician in Gulfport, MS - JOB TITLE Respiratory Therapist – Night Shift LOCATION Mississippi SCHEDULE / JOB TYPE Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Night Shift KEY RESPONSIBILITIES * Provide intensive respiratory care and patient transport as medically prescribed, within the scope of professional licensure and with minimal supervision, including evaluating patients and recommending treatment plans. * Conduct physician-prescribed respiratory treatments utilizing invasive and non-invasive ventilatory equipment, oxygen and aerosol devices, and nebulizer devices to administer prescribed medications, humidification, ventilation, and oxygenation. * Perform chest physiotherapy, suctioning (oropharyngeal, nasal, and tracheal), oximetry and capnography monitoring, pulmonary function studies, arterial puncture, and routine chest x-ray review. * Assist with respiratory-related procedures including bronchoscopy, percutaneous tracheostomies, chest tube placement, tracheostomy care, and endotracheal tube insertion and removal via freehand technique or video laryngoscope. * Set up, self-test, operate, maintain, and monitor mechanical ventilation equipment; assist with preventative maintenance and repair as needed. * Accurately document all treatments, patient responses, and respiratory therapy charges; communicate effectively with attending and pulmonary physicians and participate in shift-to-shift handoff communication. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS * Active Respiratory Therapist licensure or certification as required by state regulations. * Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification. * Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification. * Demonstrated competency in operating invasive and non-invasive ventilatory equipment, oxygen delivery systems, and aerosol devices. * Ability to perform arterial puncture, 12-Lead EKG, and basic arrhythmia recognition. * Ability to work independently with minimal supervision during night shift hours. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE / SKILLS * Experience in a moderate complexity laboratory setting with knowledge of specimen handling, quality controls, and documentation protocols. * Familiarity with PleurX catheter drainage procedures or similar chest drainage devices. * Experience with video laryngoscope systems for endotracheal intubation.
