Travel Respiratory Therapy Technician in Wyandotte, MI - JOB TITLE Respiratory Therapist LOCATION Michigan SCHEDULE / JOB TYPE Contract | Days (flexibility for additional shifts as needed) | 8-Week Assignment KEY RESPONSIBILITIES * Provide intensive respiratory care and patient transport as medically prescribed, including operation of invasive and non-invasive ventilatory equipment, oxygen and aerosol devices, and nebulizer devices * Evaluate patients and recommend treatment plans; explain procedures, treatments, and equipment to patients and provide discharge education * Perform chest physiotherapy, suctioning, oximetry, capnography monitoring, pulmonary function studies, and arterial puncture * Perform 12-Lead EKG, basic arrhythmia recognition, tracheostomy care, and insertion/removal of endotracheal and tracheostomy tubes * Assist with respiratory-related procedures such as bronchoscopy, percutaneous tracheostomies, and chest tube placement; perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation per BLS and ACLS guidelines * Maintain accurate documentation of treatments, patient responses, respiratory therapy charges, and communicate findings to attending and pulmonary physicians REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS * Active Michigan Respiratory Therapist license (required prior to hire) * Current ACLS certification (required prior to hire) * Current BLS certification * Ability to operate and maintain mechanical ventilation equipment and perform equipment self-tests * Experience with moderate complexity laboratory testing protocols including pre-analytic, analytic, and post-analytic phases (where applicable) PREFERRED EXPERIENCE / SKILLS * Experience with video laryngoscope systems for endotracheal intubation * Familiarity with PleurX catheter or similar chest drainage devices * Ability to perform routine chest x-ray review to assess need for further evaluation WHY JOIN US * Immediate start opportunity with a defined contract length, offering a focused and impactful clinical experience * Work within a collaborative care environment with opportunities to apply a broad range of advanced respiratory therapy skills
