Fluoroscopic diagnostic and therapeutic procedures will be performed alongside a radiology provider. The technologist will assist with patient education regarding preparation and post-care for radiology procedures. Support with fluoroscopically guided procedures will also be part of the responsibilities. Documentation necessary for proper interpretation, reporting, archiving, and retrieval of exams must be completed. The role includes participating in the implementation, monitoring, and improvement of hospital quality indicators. Demonstrating sound judgment, patience, and maintaining a professional demeanor is essential. The technologist must be able to handle challenging situations and effectively communicate with patients and families. Exposure to bloodborne pathogens, radiation, chemicals, and potentially infectious diseases is a possibility.
