This position will float between units. On-call is not required. Weekends are required. The Friday night shift will extend into Saturday morning. Block schedules are required. Expected ratios are 2:1. Special requirements include a license in hand. The facility is a short-term acute care hospital with 108 total staff beds. Staff scrubs are provided, and any color is permitted for RNs and allied staff. Charting is done using a specific electronic system. There is no fee for parking. Daily patient age groups include adults and geriatrics. The unit has a daily census of approximately 15 visits per day and includes 4 rooms with 4 beds. Patient diagnoses include obstructive sleep apnea, narcolepsy, and periodic limb movement syndrome. The role may require floating to nearby facilities. Applicants need to have a vehicle for this assignment. Compliance with required health guidelines may be necessary. Travelers’ refusal to float may result in termination of assignments. Performs studies in accordance with policy and guidelines. Closely monitors patients for clinical and physiological events and takes appropriate actions to obtain required data. Performs Titration and Split night studies as ordered. Wakes patients when the appropriate amount of data is obtained, and when the study is completed. Removes electrodes and transducers carefully and assists patients with hygiene as necessary. Scores studies in accordance with scoring guidelines and completes all scoring in a timely manner. Completing scoring takes precedence over all other non-patient-related functions. Completes Inter Score Reliability monthly. Notifies the Medical Director or Clinical Manager of any adverse changes in patient condition. Assists in training of new personnel. Will perform other duties as assigned.
