Draws quality blood samples from patients and prepares those specimens for lab testing while following established practices and procedures. Perform verification of patient demographic info / initials including patient signature post-venipuncture to verify tubes were labeled in their presence and that the name on the label is correct. Ideal Candidate: Must have excellent venipuncture technique along with thorough tube knowledge and an understanding of the order of draw Preference given to candidates who possess the following skills: Pediatrics through geriatrics experience High volume drawing experience (50+ per day) in an environment where the sole responsibility is to draw patients back-to-back throughout an entire hospital or reference laboratory shift High level of self confidence in one’s own phlebotomy technique.
