Travel Nuclear Medicine Tech - $2,476 per week in Pasadena, TX - Job Title: Nuclear Medicine Technologist Profession: Nuclear Medicine Tech Specialty: Radiology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 10.5 hours Experience: Minimum 1 year License: NMTCB or ARRT (NM) certification required Certifications: Must have NMTCB or ARRT (NM) certification Description: Data Collection: 7/16/2026 Unit has 2 Nuclear Medicine rooms. The staff is a solo-run unit. One staff member works day shift Monday through Friday. Night shift is on call. Patient ratios can be 2 to 1. Typical equipment includes GE Infinia and GE Discovery. EMR systems used are Meditech Magic/Expanse, Merge Cardio, Cardinal Health, Xcelaris, and PACS. Must have an understanding of JCAHO standards and regulations. Candidates must be able to work independently. Preferred candidates will have IV skills. Typical procedures performed include Hida Scans, gastric emptying studies, and stress tests. Ideal candidates are self-starters, communicators, and team players. On-call shifts are Saturday through Wednesday from 1800 to 0600. Protocols are provided in a binder in the unit. Dress code is Kelley Green scrubs.

ESSENTIAL WORK FUNCTIONS: * Educates patients about nuclear medicine procedures and addresses questions if they arise * Maintains and inspects nuclear medicine equipment for proper functioning, reporting any malfunctions and ensuring compliance with radiation safety standards * Prepares and administers radiopharmaceuticals and other medications to patients according to established protocols and safety standards * Monitors patients for adverse reactions to radioactive drugs or other administered medications, intervening as necessary to ensure their safety * Operates medical imaging equipment to create images of organs or areas of the body according to physician orders * Documents procedure details in patient records to ensure continuity of care and compliance with regulations * Follows hospital safety rules and policies and radiation safety procedures to minimize exposure to radioactive materials * Performs other duties as assigned within the scope of Nuclear Medicine Technologist practice REQUIRED ESSENTIAL SKILLS: * Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills * The ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language * Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills * Physical Abilities - Must be able to remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50-100lbs), push, pull, and bend * Interpersonal Skills - Must be able to work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary) to present a positive attitude and professionalism * Technical/Motor Skills - Must have the ability to grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment * Mental Requirements - Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure.
