In radiation producing modalities, technologists' practice and enforce the radiation safety measures in New York State Department of Health code part 16. Technologists support teaching and continue learning as the technology changes for both themselves and others. The technologist prepares and administers dosages of radiopharmaceuticals and contrast media. The technologist prepares and positions patients for scanning and operates nuclear medicine instruments and imaging equipment..
