ABOUT THIS JOB As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you'll prepare radiopharmaceuticals and other medications used to diagnose and treat specialized conditions. Profession: Nuclear Medicine Technologist Schedule: 5x8s, 9a-5:30p Call: One night per week, one weekend per month. Call hours are 1730-0630 Mon-Fri and 24hrs Sat-Sun Duration: 10-weeks Department Description: General nuclear med studies (bones, renals, gastric emptying, GI bleeds, HIDAs, Thyroid uptake/scan, parathyroids, VQ perfusions), cardiac and EPT/CT Daily Caseload: 15-18 Rooms: 4 & PET/CT Ages: All ages. Adolescents-Geriatrics Job duties: Prepare, administer, and measure radioactive isotopes in therapeutic, diagnostic, and tracer studies using a variety of radioisotope equipment. Prepare stock solutions of radioactive materials and calculate doses to be administered by radiologists. Subject patients to radiation. REQUIREMENTS: *General Skills: IV starts, phlebotomy, EKGs, PACS *Nuclear Med Procedure Experience: Cardiac, bone scan, brain scan, lung scan, renal flow, thyroid studies, SPECT, myocardial *Certs : BLS, NMTCB [[ARRT preferred]] *Expereince: Min 2 years of Nuc Med Tech experience. Independent work is required. Traveler must be experienced and proficient. **Seasoned travelers preferred. Manager will consider first-time travelers if Tech is very experienced. **EPIC CLASS: RADIOLOGY CT ONLINE ON UNIT **Scrub color: Pewter Grey FLU/COVID VACCINE: COVID: o Verification that each assigned individual is fully vaccinated or has received a qualified exemption. An individual is considered fully vaccinated if it has been two weeks or more since they completed a primary vaccination series for COVID-19. The completion of a primary vaccination series for COVID-19 is defined as the administration of a single-dose vaccine (such as the Janssen (Johnson & Johnson) COVID-19 Vaccine), or such as the administration of all required doses of a multi-dose vaccine (such as the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine). o If your traveler will not be fully vaccinated two weeks prior to the start date, please alert the Qualivis team. These situations will be sent to VHC for review. o If your traveler is requesting a religious or medical COVID exemption, it will be up to the agency to approve and provide supporting documentation. FLU: o The Flu vaccine is required during flu season. (Oct 1st - Mar 31st) Declination is only acceptable for medical reasons. Travelers that wish to decline will need a Dr's note stating why they are unable to received the flu vaccination and will be required to wear a mask anytime they are within 6 feet of a patient. Dr's note must be recent and it must be clear that traveler can not receive the flu vaccine for the current season.
