Therapists may be tasked with initiating CPAP on infants as needed. Breathing treatments, ventilator management, arterial blood gas (ABG) draws, and EKGs are core responsibilities. In addition, core therapists can place arterial lines. Travelers will not be required to conduct critical care transporting outside of the facility. Travelers will assist in intubation procedures but will not be expected to perform them independently. There is always a lead therapist or supervisor available for questions. Scheduling is done four weeks in advance, with shifts from 0645 to 1915 and 1845 to 0715. Travelers are expected to work every other weekend and holidays if those days coincide with their scheduled shifts. There is no call or standby requirement. Scrub color is flexible, as long as it is professional, and a clean appearance is expected. The facility uses various brands for respiratory equipment, including Puritan Bennett, Hamilton, and Vapotherm. The facility operates an open ICU with two pulmonologists on staff and a hospitalist available 24/7. Travelers will participate in a second interview and skills assessment upon arrival to ensure appropriate assignments. The cancellation policy allows for two shifts per contract.
