Travel CT Tech - $3,275 per week in White Plains, NY - Weekly Pay Range - $2948 To $3275 Summary : * PET/CT Technologists connect with patients, explain the procedure and ensure patient comfort, safety and satisfaction. * PET/CT Techs interpret physician orders/instructions and select appropriate software options and imaging parameters to produce the highest-quality PET/CT images/studies possible-enabling physicians to diagnose with pinpoint accuracy and treat with confidence. Duties and Responsibilities: * Responsible for patient safety including pre-screening for contraindications, aseptic injection technique, etc. and radiation safety/regulations, including proper documentation and technique when working with radioactive materials/patients. * Produces high quality diagnostic images. * Effectively communicates with customers and/or radiologists. * Trouble-shoots the scanner, coach and peripheral equipment (including: monitors, PACS, coils, etc.). Minimum Job Requirements: * High School Diplma or Associate`s Degree. * Certification in Nuclear Medicine by the NMTCB or ARRT (N) required. State Liense as required. * AHA BLS certification required. * 1-2 years PET imaging experience or 1-2 years’ experience in Nuclear Medicine procedures and studies preferred. Performs routine and some special procedure imaging. Prepares patient for procedures. Assists Radiologists when needed. Prepares, operates and cares for the equipment being used. Develops/processes film/CDs when needed. Adheres to established radiology “standards of care”. Applies principles of radiation protection, when appropriate to minimize exposure to patient, self and others. Assumes responsibility for assigned area and duties. Adheres to practice wide customer service programs. Performs other duties as assigned, such as quality assurance. Performs diagnostic and some special procedure medical radiographic images. Exercises professional judgment in performance of procedures. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Understands and adheres to the Facility Performance Standards, Policies and Behaviors. Prepares and positions patients correctly for specific examinations, observing different and special requirements for each protocol including proper documentation on images and required body part questionnaires. Assumes responsibilities for designated areas and/ or procedures and produces good technical images, reviewing completed exams for quality, completeness for the type of test ordered. Assists physicians during practice-based procedures as necessary. Performs equipment Quality assurance and calibrations as needed, orders supplies. May be required to work holidays, overtime and/or day, evening and overnight shift coverage to help maintain adequate and safe coverage for the outpatient facility. Maintains the cleanliness of all work areas, equipment and accessories. Reports all malfunctioning equipment to Bio Med or supervisor. Processes images or prints CD’s if needed. Performs routine office tasks, such as answering phones, checking-in patients, obtaining previous reports/films, or other related duties as needed. Shows Radiologist films and calls reports to the attending physician and documents communications if necessary (wet readings). Provides clinical instructions to students. Will treat all people/staff in a professional and courteous manner, upholding the Facility behavioral standards. Introduces self and educates each patient or family member regarding the examination that is ordered. Knowledgeable and skillful in providing care, based on age, physical and psychosocial needs of different patient populations including neonate/newborn, pediatric/adolescent, adults and geriatric groups. Performs other related duties as required, attends staff meetings and in-services. Coverage rotation to other outpatient sites.
