This role provides critical respiratory therapy, monitors patient responses, and collaborates with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality respiratory care in accordance with established standards and regulations. Qualifications: * Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). * Valid state license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner/Licensed Respiratory Therapist * Associate or Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program. * Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred. * Strong critical-thinking skills and ability to work effectively in high-stress clinical situations. Travel Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) in Lafayette, LA - Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist Job Details: • Demonstrate comfort in treating all patient populations across all units including Emergency Department and ICU • Administer Oxygen Therapy and assess adequacy of patient response to therapy • Recognize signs of cardiopulmonary arrest and initiate resuscitation and life-support measures in adults, children, and infants • Assess patients for distress requiring immediate therapeutic intervention and manage emergent problems in all critical situations • Perform complex ventilatory management including understanding technical components of ventilators, pathophysiology of the respiratory system, and patient ventilator interaction • Analyze arterial blood samples, assess values for consistency, identify contributing factors to abnormalities, and recommend appropriate therapeutic interventions • Set goals and organize activities to achieve optimum and efficient patient care in a timely manner • Observe, assess, and report patient status or needs to appropriate personnel • Participate in staff development and educate patients and families about respiratory procedures and disease processes • Current NBRC credentials and current Louisiana State License or permit issued by LSBME required • Current BLS and ACLS certification required • PALS certification preferred Facility: This regional medical center provides comprehensive respiratory care services across all units within the facility, including the Emergency Department and ICU.
