JOB DETAILS * Position: Surgical Technologist * Location: Pittsfield * Contract Length: 13 Weeks * Shift: Evening Shift * Schedule: 5×8 * Experience Required: 2 Years * Weekly Pay: $2000 to $2200 RESPONSIBILITIES * Prepare operating rooms with sterile instruments, equipment, and surgical supplies prior to procedures * Maintain a sterile field throughout surgical procedures using proper aseptic techniques * Assist surgeons by passing instruments, sutures, sponges, and surgical supplies during operations * Anticipate the needs of the surgical team to promote efficient workflow and patient safety * Perform sponge, needle, and instrument counts before, during, and after procedures * Prepare specialty surgical equipment and instruments for various surgical cases * Assist with patient positioning, skin preparation, and safe transfers before and after surgery * Handle and properly label surgical specimens according to facility protocols * Clean, restock, and prepare operating rooms between surgical procedures * Follow infection prevention, sterilization, and patient safety standards at all times * Collaborate with surgeons, registered nurses, anesthesia providers, and perioperative staff to deliver exceptional surgical care REQUIREMENTS * Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program * Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential preferred or required by facility policy * Minimum 2 years of recent Surgical Technologist experience * Current BLS Certification required * Experience assisting with general surgery and multiple surgical specialties preferred * Strong knowledge of sterile technique, surgical instrumentation, and operating room procedures * Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills * Ability to remain calm and efficient during routine and emergency surgical procedures * Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety * Ability to stand for extended periods and actively participate throughout surgical procedures
