Summer is sadly coming to an end, but lucky for us we still have Labor Day weekend to do some of the things we wish we could have the past three months! No matter where you’re assignment has you located, there will be some sort of festival, community BBQ, carnival, or something going on this weekend. Alabama:

This year will mark the 18th Annual Sweet Tater Festival. Among fun Labor Day activities the festival will offer door prizes, arts and crafts, games, plenty of food, and it’s 2nd Annual Sweet Tater Car Show. There is camping and cabins available. The Sweet Tater Labor Day Festival will be held at Smith Lake Park in Cullman, Alabama.

Alaska:

The fairgrounds for the Alaska State Fair are located an hour north of Anchorage. The fair runs from August 21st – September 1st. The Alaska State Fair offers live music, plenty of food, rides, Kenai Racing Pigs, truck demo derby, and much more!

 Arizona:

Harold’s Cave Creek Corral offers a delicious Hawaiian buffet, live music, a limbo contest, Laua show and much more! This year will mark it’s 17th Annual Hawaiian Luau, which features Tia’s Royal Islanders Dancers, face paintings, Lei making, drink specials, and more! Harold’s Cave Creek Coral party starts August 31st at 6pm!

 Arkansas:

The National Championship Chuckwagon Races are held Friday – Sunday at the Of Ranch in Clinton, Arkansas. There will be bands performing after the race, dances, and much more!

 Connecticut:

 Florida:

Beginning August 29th the National Kidney Foundation of Florida will hold its 29th Annual NKF Rich Salick Pro/Am Surf Festival. All proceeds go to the NKF of Florida. Don’t miss out on the largest surfing charity competition in the world!

 Georgia:

The Kingsland Catfish Festival provides attendees with a diverse weekend. From golf tournaments to catfish fishing tournaments, this is the place to be! The festival kicks off September 3rd and runs through September 5th!
