If chosen for a physical therapy scholarship, applicants will receive a one-time sum. In order to apply, you need to be a U.S. resident. You also need to be a college senior attending graduate school the following year or a current graduate student. Applicants must have one or more years of school to go before you get your degree! You will be evaluated based on your GPA, academic records, community involvement, and an essay. The application opens on May 1st and is due on June 27th! The APTA gives out a scholarship each year to students who are in their last year of schooling. The Mary McMillan scholarship is for both future physical therapists and future physical therapist assistants. The physical therapy student receives a $5,000 scholarship while the physical therapy assistant student receives $3,000. To apply, you need to be nominated by your physical therapy professional education program. Once you’re nominated, you can complete an application.
