Allied Health Professionals Week 2019

What Does Allied Health Professionals Week 2019 Represent Exactly?

Allied Health Professionals Week represents an entire week dedicated to the professionals that play an important role in our healthcare. More specifically, it is a week dedicated to YOU, the professionals that provide amazing care for so many patients.

As you may know, these workers include different types of medical technicians, both mental and physical therapists, pharmacists, and so many more healthcare professionals. You and other professionals greatly influence our healthcare by providing us with evaluations, treatment, and rehabilitation services.

According to ExploreHealthCareers.org, there are nearly five million allied health professionals working in more than 80 different professions. The lives of so many patients are changed due to your hard work and dedication, and this is something to be proud of!

Though it may seem at times like no one notices the hard work you put in, know that you are appreciated! Here are a few ways that you can celebrate during Allied Health Professionals Week 2019!

5 Ways to Celebrate During the Week

There are lots of ways that you, as an allied health professional, can celebrate during this special week. Here are five ways that we have decided to highlight for you!

1. Spoil Yourself

Most importantly, Allied Health Professionals Week 2019 is about celebrating you and the work that you are providing to your patients. So…take some time for YOU! This means doing something special for yourself, which can mean so many things…I know. Mainly though, it means showing yourself some greatly deserved self-love.

Take the day off and hang with family, friends, or your significant other. Go get that manicure, pedicure, or item that you’ve had your eye on for months. Whatever it is, go get it or go do it! Helping others is what you do every day, so find some time to treat yourself!

2. Post, Post, Post

Perhaps you are savvy with the social media platforms of today (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram). Well if you are, this can be a great way to interact with other allied health professionals during the week using hashtags that pertain to the celebration.

Posting about other allied health professionals can also provide a quick way to show support and spread the word to people that may not know about the week’s celebration. So, post, like, and share messages and information about Allied Health Professionals Week 2019!

3. Inform the Masses

Shout it from the rooftops! You can obtain a proclamation from your local government or state official proclaiming November 3rd – 9th, 2019 as Allied Health Professionals Week to your town or city. All you have to do is call their office to learn more about their procedures for this process.

You can also contact other news outlets, small businesses, or local papers to advertise the week in their publications. Doing this will help provide recognition for other allied health professionals just like you!

4. Teach the Young

Another way to celebrate during the week is to inform young people about what is going on. You can volunteer in schools, daycares, or after school programs, and help teach students all about allied health professionals. By doing this, you will also be teaching the young about what these types of professionals do for them and everyone else in the healthcare system. Thus, you would be giving them information that would help them better understand the type of work that you provide.

You could also be potentially inspiring younger generations to become allied health professionals when they grow up!

5. Acknowledge Others Around You

Lastly, you can celebrate this week by helping to celebrate other allied health professionals around you or that work with you. Imagine receiving a handwritten note complimenting you on your work or someone coming up to you and saying a simple “thank you” for your work. It would probably make you feel pretty good about yourself and very appreciated. So spread the love and show your colleagues some appreciation too. Not only will it make them feel good but seeing someone else happy can also make you happy as well!

Now that you have a few ways to celebrate the week that’s all about you, let’s get ready for Allied Health Professionals Week 2019!
