Computed Tomography Technologist - (CT Tech)
StartDate: 1/29/2024 Available Shifts: 9 D/N/E Pay Rate: $2162.00 - $2491.00
Unit Description Extremely busy and fast paced environment serving a 500 mile radius. Level 2 trauma center, Stroke accreditation, 800 inpatient bed hospital, 80 ER beds. The volume and pace required to work here are that of level 1 trauma center. Non-Negotiables Must have State License prior to start, 2 years of experience, prefer Level 1 trauma experience, CT Registry, AHA BLS Schedule 4x9's day shift with a possibility of nights and/or weekends. Schedule needs will be discussed during interview. Floating between Renown Regional and South Meadows will be required. Call may be required. . Position Purpose Under the supervision of the CT Supervisor, the incumbent produces diagnostic CT scans, assisting the radiologist in diagnostic CT scan procedures, and ensuring patient care while representing the vision and mission of Renown Health System. Nature and Scope The incumbent must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care based on physical, motor/sensory, psychosocial, and safety appropriate to the age of the patient served and meets standards of quality as measured by the unit/department age specific competency standards. The incumbent is responsible for coordination of the daily workflow and assist in the throughput of ER, in-patients and outpatients and providing for appropriate QC monitoring, as specified in the evaluation section of the job description. The incumbent is responsible to maintain current CPR certification, mandatory in-services, etc. This position has the authority to make technical decisions that will provide the best possible CT scans, and administer IV contrast materials under the direction of the radiologist. This position must be proficient in the use of in-house CT scanning and contrast injecting equipment. This position will require training and general knowledge attained to operate the hospital and departmental computer systems. The major challenges to this position are related to advance imaging for trauma, Stroke, Code aorta, in-patients, outpatients and staying current with changes in the field of CT. Managing appropriate care prioritizations with rapidly changing volumes demands. Coordinating with the CT department on a daily basis as well as providing strategic planning input for the future direction of the department. The incumbent is required to perform CT procedures of the human body according to the guidelines recommended by the Imaging Director and Renown Health CT Department Policy & Procedure manual. The incumbent is challenged to operate a variety of sophisticated CT imaging units and image storage systems. The incumbent must provide optimal patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and exam evaluation of neonatal, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients and families. Excellent communication skills, ability to be flexible and function in a fast-changing environment and work under stress along with ability to maintain strict confidentiality is essential. This position does provide patient care.
