Position: Sterile Processing Technician $$SN$$
Location: Neptune, New Jersey
Shift: Evenings – 5x8s (3:00 PM – 11:30 PM)
Duration: 13 Weeks

Job Duties

• Clean, decontaminate, inspect, assemble, and sterilize surgical instruments and reusable medical equipment.

• Process patient care equipment according to established departmental policies and procedures.

• Operate sterilization equipment including Steam, ETO, Sterrad, and Steris systems.

• Perform and document biological testing and Bowie-Dick testing to ensure sterilization quality.

• Maintain accurate sterilization records, load documentation, and computerized instrument count sheets.

• Assemble and prepare case carts using surgeon preference cards and procedure requirements.

• Communicate missing instruments or supplies with the Operating Room team.

• Handle detergents, disinfectants, and sterilization chemicals safely while following Universal Precautions and proper PPE guidelines.

• Assist with inventory management and maintain adequate supply levels.

• Lift up to 50 lbs., push/pull up to 60 lbs., and remain standing for extended periods throughout the shift.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Minimum 5 years of Sterile Processing experience required.

• Completion of a Central Processing course or equivalent instrument processing experience.

• CRCST or CBSPD (CBSPDT) certification required.

• Must be willing to work every other weekend.

• Must be available to work 3 of 6 designated holidays.

• Must be flexible to work rotating schedules/shifts based on department needs.
