About the Position

Job Title: Respiratory Therapist Profession: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics Specialty: RRT Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Two years minimum as staff therapist required License: WI RCP required - pending license accepted Certifications: BLS required - AHA ONLY, NBRC - RRT required Must-Have: - Pediatric and adult experience preferred - COARC accredited School for Respiratory Therapy required Description: 36 hours/week assignment. Evening/Night shifts from 19:00 - 07:30, 23:00 - 07:30, 15:00 - 23:30. Holidays and every other weekend rotation required. One on-call shift every six-week scheduling period. Previous experience in adult critical care and trauma level I and II required. Travelers may float as needed. Two years of acute care experience within the last three years in the specialty required. Telemetry exam is required prior to start. Passing score of 80% or higher on adult and pediatric exams is necessary. Traveler will have two attempts to pass. If the traveler fails the second attempt, a certificate of completion of a cardiac interpretation review course will be required before scheduling a third attempt. Failure to pass after three attempts will result in cancellation of assignment. Additional Skills: Experience with aerosol setup for mask and trach, BiPAP, CPAP, and extubation. Ability to interpret arterial blood gases and perform pulmonary hygiene. Familiarity with emergency procedures and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) management. Knowledge in troubleshooting high-pressure alarms and weaning from mechanical ventilation is essential.
