About the Position
Job Title: Sterile Processing Technician Profession: Surgical Services Specialty: Sterile Processing Tech Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Mid Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: Minimum 3 years in sterile processing License: NA Certifications: CBSPD or CRCST preferred Must-Have: - Experience with decontamination of all items, including drills, scopes, and surgical instruments. - Proficient in sterilization processes, including both hydrogen peroxide (Sterrad) and steam sterilization. - Familiarity with high-level disinfection (HLD) and scope reprocessing. - Experience with sterile storage and as an Operating Room liaison. - Knowledge of Censitrac tracking system is essential. - Ability to move case carts, separate dirty instruments, and prepare case cart needs for upcoming surgical cases. - Experience taking on-call responsibilities for surgical floors. Description: We are seeking candidates experienced in all areas of sterile processing. The position involves decontaminating various instruments and equipment used in surgical procedures. Candidates should have experience in sterilization processes, including both Sterrad and steam methods. Knowledge of high-level disinfection practices and scope handling is preferred. Experience in sterile storage management and coordinating with the Operating Room is essential for this role. Candidates will utilize the Censitrac tracking system for instrument management. Responsibilities include moving and preparing case carts, as well as taking on-call duties for surgical floors as needed. Both CBSPD and CRCST certifications are accepted for this position. Routine verification of sterilization documentation and adherence to aseptic techniques are required. Candidates should possess a thorough understanding of various medical instrumentation and techniques related to sterilization.
