About the Position
Job Title: Interventional Radiology Technologist Profession: IR Technologist Specialty: IR Tech Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 10H Days Hours per Shift: 40 hours per week Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Required Certifications: ARRT(R), BLS Required, ACLS Preferred Description: Primarily Neuro IR position, with responsibilities covering Body IR as needed. Scheduled Monday through Friday, 4 ten-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with on-call requirements. On-call commitment includes 1-2 shifts per week, plus every third or fourth weekend. Possible holiday on-call required, with a 30-minute call back time. Procedures range from 20 to 30 cases daily, depending on the day's schedule and provider coverage. Utilizes Canon equipment in Body/Vascular IR rooms and Siemens Artis Q and Siemens Iconos in Neuro rooms. GE ultrasound equipment is used in all procedure rooms. Key Responsibilities: Monitor and interpret hemodynamic data. Observe sterile techniques while preparing necessary supplies. Maintain patient and unit confidentiality at all times. Prepare entry sites using sterile techniques. Continuously monitor patient ECG and blood pressure, documenting and informing the physician promptly. Participate in the on-call rotation, remaining available for emergent procedures. Initiate resuscitative measures and operate cardiac defibrillators under physician supervision. Document all procedures accurately and utilize the established inventory control system. Engage in educational and in-service opportunities. Instruct radiography students in clinical settings. Maintain specialization in neuroradiology and vascular IR procedures. Participate in inventory management activities. Prepare patients appropriately prior to procedures. Contribute to performance improvement initiatives. Cancellation Policy: Two shifts per 13-week contract. Charting System: EPIC. BSN is not required. Trauma Level: Not specified. Care Setting: Acute. Division: Allied. Shift Notes: Primarily Neuro IR role with Body IR responsibilities as needed. Required Certifications: ARRT, BLS Certification.
