About the Position

Job Title: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Profession: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics Specialty: RRT Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Hours Experience: Minimum 3 Years in Acute Care License: VA License Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, RRT, NRP (if NICU experience), PALS (if possible) Must-Have: - Previous charge experience preferred - Experience in adult critical care - Ventilator management experience required - EPIC charting experience Description: This position is for a night shift Registered Respiratory Therapist in an acute care hospital setting. The therapist will cover various departments including ICU, ED, MS, and NICU if qualified. A Level II trauma center, the facility has three ICUs and typically has 7 to 10 respiratory therapists depending on patient census. The responsibilities include managing mechanical ventilation and performing necessary respiratory interventions. The candidate should be proficient in administering therapies such as BiPAP, CPAP, and high flow nasal cannula. Experience in interpreting arterial blood gases and performing tracheostomy care is essential. Additional skills such as bronchoscopy and troubleshooting high-pressure alarms are preferred. The therapist will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to provide high-quality patient care. Experience in a neonatal intensive care unit is a plus. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
