About the Position
Job Title: Registered Respiratory Therapist Profession: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics Specialty: RRT Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a critical care setting License: State respiratory therapist license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, RRT, NRP (preferred), PALS (preferred) Must-Have: - Previous charge experience is preferred - Trauma Level I or II experience is preferred - Experience in adult critical care, NICU, and emergency department is a plus Description: Registered Respiratory Therapist needed for an acute care hospital. Will cover intensive care, emergency department, medical-surgical, and neonatal intensive care units if qualified. Facility includes multiple intensive care units and operates with 7-10 respiratory therapists based on patient census. Skills required include knowledge of advanced respiratory therapies and equipment such as BiPAP, CPAP, and high flow nasal cannula. Experience with interpretation of arterial blood gases is essential. Candidates must be proficient in performing tracheostomy care and management, extubation, and troubleshooting mechanical ventilation issues. Experience with charting systems is required. Candidates should possess knowledge of various respiratory medications and therapies. Allowances for floating may be requested based on facility needs. All must have specialty experience within the last year.
