About the Position

Job Title: Certified Surgical Tech Profession: Surgical Services Specialty: Certified OR Tech / Surgical Tech (CST) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: Minimum 1 year of surgical experience, robotic experience preferred License: NY license required Certifications: BLS, NBSTSA Must-Have: Surgical experience in general OR and robotic procedures Description: Must have robotic experience. Fair share of on-call requirements with a rotation of 1 in 4 or 5. Call starts at 7 PM and ends at 7 AM the next day. Weekend call is from 7 AM Saturday to 7 AM Monday. There is a 20-minute call-back requirement. A call house is available if residing outside the area. One year of experience is required; first-timers welcome. Weekend requirement: 1 weekend out of 5 and one weeknight per week. Candidates within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted. Preferred patient diagnoses include infants, pediatrics, and adolescents. Special procedures include orthopedics, ENT, general surgery, OB/GYN, urology, and podiatry. Required skills include scrubbing for various surgical procedures such as colonoscopy, appendectomy, cholecystectomy, and more. Experience with Da Vinci Xi Surgical System and TORS is necessary. Community hospital experience is required. Experience with multiple surgical techniques and procedures is essential. Candidates must float as required. EPIC charting experience is a hard requirement. Background policy will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Candidates must complete necessary training modules prior to start.
