About the Position

Job Title: Cardiovascular Tech Profession: Cardiovascular Tech Specialty: Cardiovascular Tech Duration: 12 months Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: Varies Experience: Minimum Years of Experience: Preferred scrub technician experience. Operating room experience and/or training course is preferred. License: Licenses/Certifications: Certified Surgery Technician (CST) certification or Tech in Surgery TS-C (NCCT) certification is required. Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor is required. Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification is preferred. Must-Have: High School Education/GED or equivalent is required. Associates/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience is preferred. Description: Assists the surgical team in the preparation of surgical procedures in the operating room. Prepares surgical cases by creating and maintaining a sterile field. Retracts and passes instruments, supplies, and medications to surgeons during cases. Performs a variety of technical skills, including the maintenance of supplies. Prepares for each surgical case by accurately checking required supplies and equipment prior to the case. Assembles appropriate supplies/equipment prior to operative procedures. Reviews equipment inventory for specialty as assigned. Sets up operative instrumentation/sterile field for expedient retrieval/utilization. Cleans equipment and facilities as necessary. Performs housekeeping duties as requested. Transports patients according to unit schedules and priorities. Provides clerical duties. Completes instrument, sponge, needle, and blade counts with the Registered Nurse according to established standards. Maintains neat and orderly sterile field demonstrating careful attention to aseptic technique. Labels solutions according to established standards. Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Organizational Requirements: All associates are required to receive all required vaccinations as a condition of employment and annually thereafter, where applicable.
