About the Position

Job Title: Occupational Therapist Assistant Profession: Occupational Therapist Assistant Specialty: - Duration: 26 weeks Shift: Monday to Friday Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: Minimum of two (2) years in a clinical setting with a frail or elderly population License: Valid Occupational Therapy Assistant License Certifications: - Must-Have: - Knowledge and skills necessary to treat frail, elderly participants with complex needs - Excellent clinical, organizational, and communication skills - Ability to work independently with minimal supervision - Demonstrated ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment - Commitment to unlocking the full potential of seniors Description: The Occupational Therapist Assistant, under the direction of an Occupational Therapist, is responsible for assisting with performing tests and providing restorative and rehabilitative Occupational Therapy services. Services are provided to participants in the center and at home to maximize independence and safety. The Occupational Therapist Assistant will work collaboratively with other members of the rehabilitation team to implement the plan of care established by the Occupational Therapist. Responsibilities include administering treatment programs established by the Occupational Therapist. The Assistant will assist in obtaining vital signs, range of motion, and strength testing. Coordination with other team members is essential to implement activities and programs based on individual treatment plans. Scheduling of treatment and clinical visits is required along with documentation of Occupational Therapy interventions. Training and instructions will be provided to staff, participants, and caregivers in the use and care of therapeutic equipment. Maintenance tracking for equipment is essential. The Assistant must remain alert to input from team members and update the Occupational Therapist promptly regarding any changes in participants' conditions. Participation in end-of-life care coordination and support is required under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist. All documentation must be completed in a timely and accurate manner. Privacy and confidentiality of all information must be protected. Participation in required quality improvement activities, staff training, and meetings is necessary. Regular communication with the Supervisor and team regarding workload and priorities is essential. Flexibility is needed for performing assignments as business needs evolve. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
