About the Position

Job Title: Dual Modality CT Tech/X-Ray Tech Profession: Radiology Specialty: CT with X-Ray Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 4x9.5 Hours per Shift: 9.5 Experience: Minimum years of experience required License: NYSDOH License Required Certifications: BLS, ARRT, AHACAT SCAN TECH Must-Have: - High School Graduate or Equivalent - Graduate of a program in Radiologic Technology Description: Maintain and exhibit behavior that promotes patient confidence and trust. Capable of working independently and unsupervised. Demonstrate proficiency in the performance of Cat Scan Imaging Exams. Demonstrate proficiency in the use and application of pediatric immobilization devices adhering to safety precautions. Produce computerized tomographic scanner radiographs of designated anatomical areas as ordered according to established policies and procedures. Prepare or enter written documentation as required by the department, such as informed patient consent and patient chart documentation. Observe sterile and aseptic techniques when necessary. Check equipment, supplies, and accessories regularly. Assess the physical needs of adult and geriatric patients. Recognize and alleviate patients' fears and apprehensions about exams. Maintain orderliness and cleanliness of work areas. Complete requested examinations in a timely manner while observing radiation safety standards. Address the special needs of each age group served and assist in making reasonable accommodations for patients who may require them. Observe bio-safety and radiation safety rules and regulations. Responsibilities and duties may be added, changed, or deleted at any time at the discretion of the Assistant Director of Radiology or the Director of Radiology. Perform related duties in PACS. Know and adhere to established hospital and department policies and procedures, including all aspects of safety. Must be computer literate. Select and operate equipment as directed. Be aware and able to prevent sentinel events. Demonstrate proficiency in the performance of all diagnostic and fluoroscopic examinations and equipment. Perform portable and operating room examinations in a timely and professional manner while observing sterile and aseptic techniques when necessary. Check equipment, supplies, and accessories regularly. Assess the physical needs of adult and geriatric patients. Recognize and alleviate patients' fears and apprehensions about exams. Maintain orderliness and cleanliness of work areas. Complete requested examinations in a timely manner while observing radiation safety standards.
