About the Position
Job Summary
Puget Sound Kidney Centers (PSKC) is seeking an experienced Dialysis Technician to provide exceptional care for patients receiving chronic in-center hemodialysis. This position will float between the Whidbey Island, Anacortes, and Smokey Point clinic locations. The Dialysis Technician will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, following established dialysis treatment protocols to ensure safe, high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to individuals undergoing chronic hemodialysis treatments.
- Prepare, operate, monitor, and disinfect dialysis machines and related equipment.
- Monitor patients before, during, and after dialysis treatments, documenting vital signs and treatment data.
- Recognize and promptly report changes in patient condition to the supervising Registered Nurse.
- Follow infection prevention and safety protocols in accordance with clinic policies and regulatory standards.
- Assist with patient education and support to promote treatment adherence and positive outcomes.
- Maintain accurate patient records and treatment documentation.
- Ensure equipment is properly cleaned, maintained, and prepared for patient use.
- Float between Whidbey Island, Anacortes, and Smokey Point clinics as needed.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Previous dialysis technician experience is required.
- Current Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHT) or Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician (CCHT) certification.
- Current Washington State MA-HT (Medical Assistant – Hemodialysis Technician) certification, or ability to obtain before start.
- Current BLS/CPR Certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Strong knowledge of dialysis procedures, infection control, and patient safety standards.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and patient care skills.
- Ability to work flexible AM or PM shifts and float between multiple clinic locations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in chronic in-center dialysis.
- Familiarity with dialysis equipment and electronic medical records (EMR).
- Excellent organizational and documentation skills.
Certifications Required
- Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHT) or Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician (CCHT)
- Washington State MA-HT Certification (or ability to obtain)
- American Heart Association (AHA) BLS/CPR Certification
