PET Technologist – Nuclear Medicine

Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Days | Full-Time | Onsite | 5x8-Hour Shifts (8:30 AM – 5:00 PM) | Monday–Friday with Saturdays as needed | On-call optional/as needed
Key Responsibilities
- Perform PET and Nuclear Medicine scanning procedures for both inpatient and outpatient populations, including adults and geriatric patients, under the direct supervision of a Board-Certified Radiologist
- Conduct patient assessments relative to the performance of NM and PET procedures and provide safe, effective patient care
- Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals, adhering to proper storing, handling, and disposal protocols for radioactive materials
- Promote and maintain radiation safety standards throughout all procedures
- Utilize EPIC for documentation and apply SBAR communication practices; support pharmacy, radiology, and rapid response teams as needed
- Start and maintain peripheral IVs and apply isolation precautions as required; manage an average daily census of 15–18 patients across 3 rooms
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of PET scan experience required
- Hands-on experience with GE equipment required
- Active Illinois Nuclear Medicine state license required (must be in hand at time of submission; no pending licenses accepted)
- Required certifications: BLS, CNMT, and ARRT or NMTCB
- Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program
- Experience with HIDA scans, isolation precautions, peripheral IV placement, and radioactive material handling required
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with Siemens equipment
- Proficiency in Gastric Emptying, MUGA Scan, Bone Scan (3-Phase, Limited, and Whole Body), Liver Imaging, and SPECT (Bone, Brain)
