About the Position

Job Title: Surgical Technician Profession: Surgical Services Specialty: OR Tech / Surgical Tech Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: Minimum Years of Experience: 1 year License: Valid state license required Certifications: BLS required Must-Have: Experience in outpatient, community hospital, ortho, neuro, and vascular cases Ability to cover one night shift within the contract as needed Willingness to work weekends, three per schedule One weeknight on-call per week Every second or third Saturday or Sunday on-call from 0700 to 0700 Description: This position requires a surgical technician to work five 8-hour shifts from 06:45 to 14:45. The technician may need to cover one night shift within their contract as needed. Experience in outpatient and community hospital settings is required. Experience in ortho, neuro, and vascular types of cases is required. Preferred experience includes inpatient and trauma cases. First-time travelers are accepted. There is a weekend requirement of three shifts per schedule. National certifications are not required. BLS certification is mandatory. The facility may call off one shift per two weeks. The hospital has a total of 80 staffed beds. Scrub colors are designated based on roles. Daily census is ten patients. The surgical area includes a maximum of four rooms. Candidates must be willing to work two out of the three major holidays. Proper use of surgical instruments and equipment is required. Travelers may be expected to float between nearby facilities. Failure to float may result in assignment termination or forfeiture of guaranteed hours. Communication devices will be provided as necessary to perform job duties. Housing options should be explored by travelers, as options may be limited. Completion of training modules is required and is non-billable.
