About the Position

Job Title: Sterile Processing Tech Profession: Surgical Services Specialty: Sterile Processing Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 hours (06:00 - 14:30) Experience: Minimum 2 years required License: Pending State License accepted Certifications: One of the following: CBSPD or CRCST (Through HSPA, formerly IAHCSMM) Must-Have: BLS Not Required Description: This position involves working as a Sterile Processing Tech in a surgical services environment. The shift is during the day, five days a week. Candidates should have experience with a high average daily tray volume. Experience with CensiTrac instrument tracking system is strongly preferred. Knowledge of using Belimed washers and sterilizers is also preferred. First-time travelers will be considered if they have Trauma I experience along with the requisite 2 years’ experience. No weekend requirements are necessary for this role. Travelers must be approved for medical or religious exemptions for any vaccination requirements. All staff are expected to float within their scope of care. The unit does not permit the use of earbuds or cellphones while on duty. Travelers should complete compliance requirements as specified within the given timelines. Attendance is critical, as excessive absences or tardies will be recorded. This role supports various surgical services including Trauma, Cardiac, Neuro, Ortho, ENT, Vascular, Transplant, and Robotics. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in aseptic techniques and various sterilization procedures. Strong organizational skills are necessary for managing instrument trays and documentation. Candidates should also have experience with multiple surgical specialties.
