About the Position

Job Title: Ultrasound Technician Profession: Ultrasound Tech/Sonographer Specialty: Radiology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Monday-Friday Hours per Shift: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: State License as a general radiographer Certifications: ARDMS or RDCS certification Must-Have: BLS certification from the American Heart Association Description: The Ultrasound Technician is a graduate of an accredited school. The technician is responsible for providing timely diagnostic services to both inpatients and outpatients. Services are performed under the direction of a Radiologist and follow departmental protocols. Responsibilities include abdominal, pelvic, gynecological, obstetrical, and transvaginal sonograms. The technician must be proficient in scanning small parts, such as thyroid, breast, and scrotum. Additional tasks include performing ultrasound-guided biopsies, drainage, thoracentesis, paracentesis, and aspirations. Candidates should be willing to take call as required. Preferred candidates will have Echo tech experience, although training is available.
