About the Position

Job Title: Medical Laboratory Technician Profession: Laboratory Specialty: Medical Lab Technician Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2+ years of recent MLT experience required License: Active Compact or State License required Certifications: BLS, ASCP Must-Have: - 2 years of experience in specialty - Ability to accept an 84 hours per two weeks scheduling Description: 2+ years of recent Medical Laboratory Technician experience is required. AHA BLS and ASCP certifications are required. Ratios can fluctuate with census and call-ins. Orientation is bi-weekly. Resources must reside at least 75 miles from the facility to be considered. Assignment confirmation needs to be signed within 24 hours of an offer. A cover sheet and driver's license are required in all submission packets. Do not submit candidates to more than one job at a time. Skills include: Client clinical laboratory experience. Knowledge of arterial blood gas, cardiac enzymes, hormone/thyroid testing, and therapeutic drug monitoring. Proficiency in CBC manual, manual differential, fibrin split products, platelet count, and body fluids. Experience with pregnancy tests (urine or blood) and rapid test kits general use. Ability to perform pipetting, specimen collection, receipt, transport, and report test results. Familiarity with microscopic UA and quality assurance and controls. No objections to working major or minor holidays. References from one supervisor and one charge or higher are required, both within the last year. Background check issues must be submitted upfront. After one year of service, travelers must take a minimum six-month break from the system prior to becoming eligible to return.
