About the Position

Job Title: CST/ORT Profession: Surgical Technologist/Operating Room Technician Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 9 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a hospital setting License: Must have a state license in hand at time of submission Certifications: BLS, ACLS required Must-Have: - Cardiac, Vascular, and Thoracic experience Description: Scheduled shifts are from 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Call and late stays may be required. Candidates must have 2 years of experience in a hospital setting. BLS and ACLS certifications are required. State license must be in hand at time of submission. Experience in cardiac, vascular, and thoracic cases is necessary. Candidates should be punctual, have a 30-minute callback time, and maintain a flexible schedule. The unit performs a variety of procedures, including CABG, valves, TAVR, EVAR, TEVAR, carotid endarterectomy, fistula creation, VATS, thoracotomy, fem-pop bypass, and angiograms with interventions. The team consists of a charge nurse, RNs, scrub techs, and aides. Patient ratios are 3 staff members per OR, with a three-member call team covering every night. Travelers will be supported by a nurse backup during shifts. The environment is team-oriented and self-motivated. Scrubs will be provided, and a standard dress code will be in place. Time off requests must follow the unit's guidelines. Call requirements include one weekend per month and 2-3 additional days per week. This position offers a supportive team environment with individuals who have been with the unit for an extended period.
