Position: Sterile Processing Technician CWR $$SN$$
Location: Neptune, New Jersey
Shift: Nights – 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Duration: 13 weeks

Job Duties
• Clean, decontaminate, process, assemble, and sterilize surgical instruments, patient care equipment, and reusable medical supplies.
• Handle surgical instrumentation while following departmental policies, Universal Precautions, and proper PPE procedures.
• Operate sterilization equipment including Steam, ETO, Sterrad, and Steris systems.
• Perform and document biological testing, Bowie-Dick testing, sterilization records, chemical integrator readings, and computerized load documentation.
• Maintain accurate computerized instrument count sheets and ensure proper sterilization tracking.
• Prepare Operating Room case carts using physician preference cards and required instruments, supplies, and equipment.
• Manage inventory, identify supply shortages, and communicate missing items with OR teams and coordinators.
• Complete daily checklists while maintaining compliance with medical center standards.
• Perform physical duties including lifting 50 lbs., pushing/pulling 60 lbs., and standing for extended periods.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 5+ years of sterile processing/instrument processing experience required.
• Active CRCST or CBSPD certification required.
• Experience with surgical instrumentation handling, sterilization processes, and patient care equipment handling.
• Knowledge of detergents, disinfectants, biological testing, Bowie-Dick testing, and sterilization recordkeeping.
• Experience operating Steam, ETO, Sterrad, and Steris sterilizers.
• English proficiency required (Read, Write, Speak).
• Weekend availability required if needed.
