About the Position

Job Title: Medical Lab Technician Profession: Laboratory Specialty: Medical Lab Technician Duration: 16 weeks Shift: Day 4x10-Hour and Mid 4x10-Hour Hours per Shift: Varies between 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM to 2:00 PM - 12:00 AM Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Must hold a valid license prior to start date Certifications: ASCP - MLS or MT required Must-Have: - Strong blood bank experience - Experience with automated instruments - Proficiency in Cerner charting system Description: This position features alternating shifts with start times varying between 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM. Candidates must be aware of and comfortable with the shift requirements. There is a requirement for weekend work every other weekend and participation in holiday rotation. Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience. Preferred experience includes working in critical access facilities and familiarity with pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient care. The laboratory utilizes various analyzers and rapid kit tests. Candidates may float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate facilities as required. Candidates must have the ability to perform specimen collection, receipt, and transport tasks. Familiarity with various testing procedures, such as ABO/Rh/Antibody Screening and hormone testing, is essential. Candidates will be responsible for reporting test results accurately and efficiently.
