About the Position

Job Title: Physical Therapy Assistant Profession: Rehabilitation Therapy Specialty: Physical Therapy Assistant Duration: 26 weeks Shift: Days M-F Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: Minimum of 1 year preferred License: Must be licensed in good standing as a Physical Therapist Assistant or have appropriate paperwork completed to work as a Student Physical Therapist Assistant post-graduation while preparing for the licensure exam. Certifications: Current BLS Must-Have: Graduated from a CAPTE-accredited physical therapy assistant education program. Description: Responsible for directing, modifying, and administering physical therapy modalities of treatment as supervised by the Physical Therapist. Administers treatments and physical agents as directed by the Physical Therapist after evaluation of the patient. Assists with restoration of patient functioning to prevent disability following injury, disease, or physical disability. Helps patients reach their maximum performance and level of functioning while learning to live within the limits of their capabilities. Participates in operational aspects of the department and maintains performance improvement activities. Engages in all infection control, departmental equipment training, organizational training, and fire safety programs. Cares for or interacts with patients across various age groups, including infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
