Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality CT imaging procedures according to physician orders and departmental protocols
- Prepare, educate, and position patients while ensuring comfort and safety throughout imaging procedures
- Administer contrast media as prescribed and monitor patients for any adverse reactions
- Operate CT scanners and related imaging equipment to obtain accurate diagnostic images
- Review image quality prior to submission for radiologist interpretation
- Follow radiation safety guidelines and ALARA principles to minimize patient exposure
- Monitor patient condition during imaging procedures and respond appropriately to emergencies
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Perform routine quality assurance checks and report equipment issues promptly
- Maintain compliance with infection prevention, patient safety, and departmental standards
- Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide exceptional diagnostic services
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
- Active California Radiologic Technologist License (CRT)
- Current ARRT Certification in Radiography (R) required
- ARRT Certification in Computed Tomography (CT) preferred
- Minimum 2 years of recent CT Technologist experience
- Current BLS Certification required
- Experience performing contrast-enhanced CT examinations in an acute care setting
- Strong knowledge of CT imaging protocols, anatomy, patient positioning, and radiation safety
- Excellent communication and patient care skills
