About the Position

Job Title: Interventional Radiology Technologist Profession: Radiology / Cardiology Specialty: Interventional Radiology Duration: 16 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 10 Experience: Minimum of 5 years License: NC or Compact license pending acceptable for submittal Certifications: ARRT R, BLS Must-Have: Traveler experience required Ability to float within or near the facility Description: Minimum of 5 years of experience in Interventional Radiology. Traveler experience is required. Locals accepted with a rate difference. Skills include: Interventional Radiology, Special Procedures, and maintaining equipment. Must have experience in angioplasty, chest tube placement, embolization, and gastrostomy tube placement. Knowledge of inferior vena cava (IVC) filter placement and liver biopsy is essential. Must be proficient in mesenteric angiogram, stent placement, and thoracentesis. Experience with catheter/drain exchanges and cystoscopy is required. Must be knowledgeable in internal/external biliary drainage and nephrostomy. Experience in performing percutaneous transhepatic cholangiogram, renal artery stent placement, and ureteral stent placement is necessary. Understanding of central venous access/port placement, and the management of ports is required. Must be skilled in maintaining central venous lines and caring for PICC lines. Fluoroscopy and accurate monitoring are essential skills. Candidate must be familiar with equipment setup and preparing access sites. The role includes responsibilities as a room circulator and maintaining a sterile field during procedures. Knowledge of isolation precautions and the use of rapid response/code teams is necessary. The average daily census is 8 with 2 visits per day. Weekend call will be rotated, requiring availability for 3-4 weekends per contract. Patient population includes acute inpatient and emergency department emergent cases. Special procedures include interventional body procedures, trauma Level I procedures, and embolizations for various medical conditions. Equipment includes Siemens and GE imaging systems, ultrasounds, and monitoring systems. Documentation systems used include Pyxis and electronic health records.
