About the Position
Job Title: Respiratory Care Specialist Profession: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics Specialty: RRT-NICU Duration: 13 weeks, with the possibility of extending up to 26 weeks upon request via interview. Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year required; 3+ years of recent experience strongly preferred for first-time travelers. License: RRT License required; pending applications accepted. Certifications: RRT, BLS, PALS, all required prior to start. Must-Have: Pediatric experience strongly preferred. Description: Locals accepted at travel rate. Specialty in NICU or PICU preferred. Minimum one year of experience required; three years of recent experience strongly preferred for first-time travelers. RRT License is mandatory; pending applications will be accepted with proof of application. BLS and PALS certifications are also required prior to the start of the position. Every other weekend is required. Floating will occur within scope, but not to sister facilities. Maximum of three shifts off for 13-week contracts; up to eight shifts off for 26-week contracts. If taking one full week off, an additional week must be added to the contract to make up for time off. No time off will be approved during specified timeframes. Average modules required will not be billable. Daily census may vary, with a robust team of interdisciplinary support. Patient age groups will include neonates, adolescents, infants, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. Experience with various advanced respiratory care equipment is required. Candidates must possess skills in mechanical ventilation, tracheostomy care, and emergency respiratory interventions. Additional essential skills include interpretation of arterial blood gases and aerosol therapies. The facility specializes in acute care nursing and includes trauma capabilities. Travel compliance regulations must be observed. No license or background hits are permitted during the application process. Return travelers must have been separated from previous assignments for at least one year. This role may involve critical care floating between various units caring for patients of all ages.
