About the Position
Job Title: Respiratory Therapist (RRT-NICU) Profession: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics Specialty: RRT-NICU Duration: Up to 26 weeks upon request via interview; regular 13 weeks will be offered if not requested during the interview Shift: Day 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year required; 3+ years recent experience strongly preferred for first-time travelers License: DC RRT License required; pending applications accepted (may take 6-8 weeks) Certifications: RRT, BLS, PALS (all required prior to start) Must-Have: Pediatric experience strongly preferred Description: Local candidates are accepted. Preference for candidates with NICU/PICU experience. Every other weekend is required. Floating is required within scope but not to sister facilities. Max of three shifts off for 13-week contracts. Max of eight shifts off for 26-week contracts. If taking one full week (7 days), an additional week must be added to the contract to make up for time off. Certain timeframes are approved for time off. The facility is a Level I Pediatric Trauma Center and a Teaching Hospital. All scrubs must be in solid colors without logos; child-friendly attire is required. The charting system used is Cerner. Candidates must have experience with various critical care procedures and equipment. Preference is given to those with trauma level experience. Modules are nonbillable and must be completed prior to orientation. Compliance requirements must be met before the start date.
