About the Position

Job Title: Occupational Therapist Assistant Profession: Occupational Therapist Assistant Specialty: - Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: M-F Hours per Shift: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM Experience: Minimum of two (2) years Occupational Therapy Assistant experience in a clinical setting with a frail or elderly population. License: Valid Occupational Therapy Assistant License Certifications: - Must-Have: - Occupational Therapy Assistant knowledge and skills to treat frail, elderly participants with complex needs. - Highly motivated and self-directed. - Excellent clinical, organizational, and communication skills. - Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Description: The Occupational Therapist Assistant is responsible for assisting with performing tests and providing restorative and rehabilitative Occupational Therapy services to participants. This role aims to maximize participant independence and safety while enhancing performance of Activities of Daily Living (ADLs). The Occupational Therapist Assistant will collaborate with other members of the rehabilitation team to implement care plans established by the Occupational Therapist. Key Responsibilities: Administer treatment programs as established by the Occupational Therapist. Assist in obtaining vital signs, range of motion, and strength testing. Coordinate with other team members to implement activities and programs based on individual treatment plans. Document Occupational Therapy interventions according to the care plans. Provide training and instructions to staff, participants, and caregivers in the use and care of therapeutic equipment. Track and manage maintenance for equipment. Update the Occupational Therapist and interdisciplinary team promptly on any changes in participants' conditions or functional status. Participate in end-of-life care coordination and support under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist. Complete all required documentation in a timely and accurate manner. Protect privacy and maintain confidentiality of participant information. Follow policies and procedures and participate in required activities and meetings. Communicate regularly with supervisors and team members regarding workload and priorities. Complete all mandated trainings and education in a timely manner. Exercise flexibility in performing assignments as business needs evolve. Perform other duties as assigned.
